The long closed quarry is now a protected monument of inanimate nature. In the middle of the pit, next to the pond that dries out in the summer, there is an interesting outcrop of metamorphosed rocks. The types of rock found here include oligoclase and biotite migmatites with inclusions of lime and silicate, along with occassional weathering. The site is particularly valuable because of the presence of multiple texture migmatites in a very small area. The textures are described as dictionites, flebites, lamellar migmatites, folded migmatites, molasse, streak, nebous, homophanic and mottled.
