Suitcase puppet theater "The Legend of Piotr Włostowic"

The winter break is upon us! We invite you to spend this time immersed in regional history.
For centuries, the story of Piotr Włostowic has been the most well-known tale of the Ślęża region. Over the centuries, Sobótka's nationality has changed, and its inhabitants have passed the legend on to new generations. A careful observer will understand how many regional threads from the past lead to the figure of Piotr. His significance cannot be overlooked. Therefore, we encourage everyone to watch our story. The suitcase puppet show "The Legend of Piotr Włostowic" was prepared by Zagroda Kraszowicka at the request of the Ślęża Museum in 2023. It is based on reliable source illustrations and substantive consultations with experts on the subject. The legend is worth revisiting, as traces of Piotr Włostowic's presence can be found throughout Ślęża, Sobótka, and Górka – places marked by history. We invite you to a meeting not only with Piotr Włostowic, but also with Bolesław Krzywousty, Władysław Wygnaniec, Duchess Agnieszka, and Princess Maria Włostowic – heroes of our Piast history – at the RCKS on February 6th at 5:00 PM. Admission is free.
