On February 8th, a unique event combining physical activity, a passion for cooking, and helping others will take place at the summit of Ślęża Mountain. Traditionally, the main attraction will be... żurek (a rye soup) and grilled sausages prepared live during a charity Live Cooking event.
Participants meet at 9:00 AM in the parking lot at Przełęcz Tąpadek (Tapła Pass), from where they will set off together to the summit of Ślęża Mountain. The culinary portion of the event will begin at the Tourist House.
All the culinary equipment—pots, induction cooktops, products, and equipment—is transported by sleds to the summit of Ślęża by rugby players from Poznań, who have been supporting this initiative for years. Thanks to their dedication, warm meals can be prepared in the heart of the mountainous landscape.
The event is attended by chefs and food service professionals from all over Poland, families with children, athletes, mountain and outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys having fun and wants to help others. This is a gathering of people with big hearts who want to combine outdoor activities with helping those in need.
Sour rye soup and grilled sausages will be served at the summit of Ślęża Mountain. Meals are free, but a collection box will be held during the event. Each participant can donate any amount to support this year's charity. The funds raised will support the Social Welfare Home in Szarcz – a place where people requiring 24-hour care stay. These are people who need support, care, and better living conditions every day. Thanks to the collective commitment of the event participants, their situation can be significantly improved. Last year, this initiative on Śnieżka Mountain raised over 12,000 złoty, demonstrating the power of collective action, even during a winter mountain expedition. The organizers hope that this year's edition will bring even greater results and further reasons to be proud. Join us! The charity Live Cooking on Ślęża is: outdoor activity, delicious food, a great atmosphere, and helping those who need it most. Anyone can participate – all you need is a good will, comfortable shoes, and a little time.
